
Ibni Sina Faculty of Medicine was opened by decree of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan No. 1157 dated July 24, 2019 after signing the memorandum of understanding between the University of Health Sciences and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. The opening of a branch of the University of Medical Sciences in Bukhara is a significant event in the development of educational and scientific relationships between Turkey and Uzbekistan. This faculty has become a vivid symbol of Turkish-Uzbek friendship and cooperation. Ibni Sina Faculty of Medicine is located in Bukhara, on the territory of which there are unique historical, cultural and natural monuments, known far beyond the borders of Uzbekistan.
The Faculty opened its doors to students in the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Currently, 77 students are studying undergraduate medical education there. As for the 2020-2021 academic year, it is planned to enroll 80 students from various regions of Uzbekistan and countries of the Turkic world. Students are admitted based on the results of the entrance exam and interview. The languages of instruction are Turkish and Uzbek.
