Program Qualification Level

Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Undergraduate Program; According to the Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ), it is in the Basic Field of Health and its education level is at the 6th level. It is also the 1st group according to the "European Higher Education Area Qualifications Framework (QF-EHEA) and the 6th level according to the "European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning" (EQF-LLL).

Objectives of the Program

The aim of the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department is to have a high level of knowledge, to prepare the society for hazards and save lives, to consider risk reduction and safety culture studies, to communicate well, to be researcher, to make scientific and correct decisions under pressure, To train qualified and sufficient Emergency Aid and Disaster Management experts who can lead internationally, to contribute to universal knowledge through research on emergency aid and disaster science, to have a say in policies and practices to be produced for emergency aid and disasters.

Length and Process of the Program

The education period is 8 semesters.
The student workload based on the theoretical course, practice and laboratory, semester projects, internships, knowledge, skills, seminars, and competencies held on five educational days a week regarding the compulsory and elective courses that students will take during their education is taken as a basis. Student workload refers to all the time spent in educational activities such as clinical work, homework, presentation, exam preparation, exam, workplace training, and course hours. In an academic year, the total of course and practice credits is sixty (60) ECTS, thirty (30) ECTS credits for each semester, and a total of two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credits must be taken for graduation.

Job and Academic Career Opportunities for Graduates

Students who complete the faculty education program receive the title of "Emergency Aid and Disaster Manager". Parallel to the developments in the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management profession, the working areas of emergency aid and disaster managers have increased considerably. Students who graduate from this department can be appointed by KPSS and work as civil servants in some public institutions and organizations such as the Disaster and Emergency Presidency, General Directorate of State Airports Authority, Fire Brigades, and the Ministry of National Education, as well as foundations and private institutions such as the Turkish Red Crescent. also has the opportunity to find employment in the sectors.
