Mission of Hamidiye Faculty of Medicine is to train physcicians who make their practices based on evidence, open to continuous improvement and, who are the owner of worth and responsibilities, and professional characteristics, as well as being researcher. Our medical education has been created with additional competencies to the National Core Education Program (UCEP) published in 2020 with the vision of being a leading medical school that cares about humanistic values with its historical background with a holistic (bio-psycho-social) approach in health.
Our education program is an outcome-base, student-centered and community-based program that includes elective courses and clerckships. The framework undergraduate program of our faculty is a fully integrated training program and includes system-based horizontal and vertical integrations in the pre-clinical period and the clinical period. The entire curriculum has been fully aligned with National Core Education Program (UCEP), which was revised in 2020. All symptom-finding disease states and professional skills, interventional and intellectual skills in the UCEP are structured according to years in the curriculum The framework education program includes structuring the education program according to years and evaluating students with different assessment and evaluation methods.
Departments of Basic Medical Sciences, departments of Public Health and Medical Pharmacology are established within the main bulding of our university “Mekteb-i tıbbiyye-i Şahane” in Istanbul, and departments of internal and surgical medical sciences are structured within affiliated hospitals. For pre-clinical medical education, there are one anatomy model and one dissection laboratory, two multidisciplinary laboratories, one physiology student laboratory and three professional skill trainig laboratories.
In this context, there are formative and decision-making exams for pre-clinical education, multiple-choice objective structured practical exams and scaled assessment forms to evaluate skills.
