About The Faculty

Gulhane Faculty of Dental Medicine was established on February 6, 2017 in Gulhane Campus and had accepted first undergraduate students in 2017-2018 academic year. It aims to educate the students and scientists of the future by its experienced academic staff/members consisted of 11 professors, 10 associate professors and 12 assistant professors. Most of the students are civilians, and a number of military students on a quota-available basis are educated on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Education period is 5 years without any preparatory year. The lessons on the theory and practice of dentistry are provided within the Gulhane Complex at the advanced preclinical and simulation laboratories that utilizes modern technology and are distinguished among universities in Turkey. Clinical internship is practiced at the Gulhane Dental Health Practice and Research Center with advanced facilities, located at the same campus.
Besides its high-quality undergraduate education, Gulhane Faculty of Dental Medicine is also preferred for doctorate programs and speciality career education. To train sophisticated and talented dentists, institution offers qualified postgraduate courses from experienced academic staff that aims elevation of comprehension, work discipline, humanistic values. Safe and reliable public health services are provided in the clinics and efforts and researches are to be continued to improve both public dental health and training services.
About Program
Program Qualification Level
Dental Medicine education program is a 5-year program equivalent to a master's degree. The program, Bologna process "in higher education EQF Top Frame (QF-EHEA)" in shareholders' defined (long) "First Level (First Cycle)" and "Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ)" as defined in s and ISCED 2011 A ECTS credit conditions and level qualifications determined for 7th level qualifications; it also provides the "Level 7" qualifications defined in the "European Lifelong Learning Qualifications Framework (EQF-LLL)". Students who successfully complete the program are given a "DENTAL MEDICINE Diploma" equivalent to a master's degree.
Undergraduate students are accepted to the program in the 2017-2018 academic year.
Objectives of the Program
he purpose of the Dental Medicine Master's Program is; To educate dentists who are sensitive to the changing oral and dental health care needs of the individual, family and society, adhere to ethical principles, have critical thinking, effective communication and research skills, can use science and technology in their applications, and respect human rights.

Length and Process of the Program
The education period is 10 semesters. In order to gain proficiency in this field by graduating from the DENTAL MEDICINE undergraduate program, it is necessary to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 to pass all the courses in the course plan that have 300 ECTS credits.
