About The Faculty

Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing is the first faculty of nursing in Turkey which was founded as a faculty at establishment stage of our university in 2015. Two nursing programs are carried out: one as the Turkish Nursing Program and one as the International Nursing Program (30% English) at our faculty. Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing aims to be a leading faculty of nursing that makes a difference with both theoretical and practical training. There are undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs at our faculty which include theoretical, laboratory, clinical and field practices in accordance with international standards. 

The courses offered at the level of the bachelor’s degree comprise not only basic medical sciences, but also professional courses related to the main areas of nursing and elective courses addressing different areas of interest. Student-centered education is provided which improves our students’ scientific and cultural perspectives. Graduates who have successfully completed their training at the faculty of nursing will be eligible to earn “Bachelor’s degree in nursing”.  

Our goal in education is to provide the students with the necessary knowledge and skills for the basic areas of nursing and to train them to take responsibility in all areas of the profession. 

About Program

Program Qualification Level

The nursing program is the 6th level of National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education in Turkey (NQF-HETR). Also, it is the first level of Overarching Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA), and 6th level of European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL).

Undergraduate students were started to accept to the program in the 2016-2017 academic year.

Objectives of the Program

Graduates of University of Health Sciences Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing undergraduate education program;

AP.1. Fulfills the roles and responsibilities of nursing in the fields of health care, in the protection, development and maintenance of the health of the individual, family and society, in the recovery in case of illness, at the national and international level and in line with ethical principles.

AP.2. Works in cooperation with the health care team by using effective communication and leadership skills in the delivery of health care services.

AP.3. It follows innovative approaches by adopting lifelong learning in maintaining their personal and professional development.

Length and Process of the Program

The duration of education is 8 semesters.

During the undergraduate program, at least 240 ECTS credits is required, provided that 30 ECTS in one academic year. Successful completion of all courses and have at least 2.00 out of 4.00 grade point average is a qualification requirement for graduation.

Job and Academic Career Opportunities for Graduates

Students who complete the faculty curriculum receive the title "Nurse". They can also work as a clinical nurse, manager nurse and education nurse in public or private sector institutions that are provided primary, secondary and tertiary health care, as well as school health nurse, occupational health nurse, home-care nurse. who have successfully completed undergraduate education can study at postgraduate programs related to their field. Nurses who have completed a postgraduate programme with a thesis and without thesis can take the role of “Expert Nurse” when they want to work in the fields. If they want to work in the field of nursing education and research, they can work as academicians and they can get specialized and career opportunities.
