About The Faculty

The Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Psychology and Exercise and Sport Sciences. These two departments incorporate theory and practice in the university’s response to better mental and physical health along with social requirements and global trends. Yet, our faculty is also planning to include more departments of social sciences to find rational solutions for social and individual problems and so contribute a healthier and more peaceful life.

Building on a theoretical and practical education within the framework of distinctive and civilizational values, students will be able to undergo a professional internship through the wide range of the University of Health Sciences’ hospitals and expertise fields. We do prioritize research, understanding, and service to public health. Our talented academic staff aim to make students meet universal education standards thorough international exchange programs and train them for a professional and hopeful future.

About Program

Program Qualification Level

Exercise and Sport Science Undergraduate Program; Higher Education Qualifications Framework to Turkey (TYYÇ) based Personal Services is located in Key Stage 6 level. In addition, it is at the 1st level according to the "European Higher Education Area Qualifications Framework" (QF-EHEA) and 6th level according to the "European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning" (EQF-LLL).

Objectives of the Program

Exercise and Sport Sciences Department; aims to train exercise and sports science experts who have the necessary technical knowledge in the field of sports, follow ethical rules, researchers, find the right solutions to problems in a short time, and follow scientific and technological developments.

Educational Type of Program

The type of education of the Exercise and Sport Sciences program is formal education.

Educational Language of Program

The language of instruction in the Exercise and Sport Sciences program is Turkish.

Qualification Awarded

Upon successful completion of the program by fulfilling all the requirements, graduates receive "Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences".

Length and Process of the Program

Hamidiye Faculty of Life Sciences, Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences provides undergraduate education, and the duration of education is 4 years (8 semesters) and is based on passing the course. The program consists of compulsory and elective courses. The student must have completed all of the courses in the program and must not have F1, F2 or Z grades.

Successful completion of all courses in the program (240 ECTS in total), fulfilling all the obligations related to the program and having a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are required for graduation.

Application to the Program, Registrations and Admission by Transfer

The application to the program is within the framework of the rules set in the Special Ability Exam and ÖSYM guide, and the exam dates and application details are announced with the Hamidiye Faculty of Life Sciences Exercise and Sports Sciences Special Ability Exam (ÖYS) Guide prepared by our university.

Students who are eligible to settle in our university with a Special Ability Exam will be registered if they submit the required documents to the Student Affairs Office of our university. The course registration process of the students who register for the final registration is made between the dates specified in the academic calendar before the academic year / year begins.

Transfer procedures from similar educational institutions are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation provisions and the decisions of the Higher Education Council and Senate. Horizontal transfers are limited to the quotas to be determined by the Senate and the adjustment procedures are made by the relevant boards.

When there is a student admission with the ÖYS, students are accepted according to the conditions specified in the exam guide of the relevant year (TYT score and the condition of entering the ÖYS).

Our students, who have graduated from the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, will be able to have job and academic career opportunities to work as an exercise and sports science specialist, coach, assistant coach, force and condition coach, recreation leader, sports manager, sports manager, sports marketer, sports masseur, in various public institutions and organizations, aperformance analyst, fitness and wellness manager, physical education and sports teacher, lecturer or research assistant at universities.
