What Is Program Accreditation?
Program Accreditation refers to the evaluation and external quality assurance process conducted by an accreditation body that measures whether pre-determined academic and field-specific standards in a particular area are met by a higher education program.
In Türkiye, the Higher Education Quality Council is responsible for the authorization and recognition activities of accreditation bodies. The process of authorizing national accreditation bodies and recognizing international accreditation bodies is carried out within the scope of the principles and criteria determined by THEQC.

What Is the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF)?
The Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) is the national qualifications framework designed to be compatible with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which determines the principles of all qualifications acquired through primary, secondary, and higher education, including vocational, general, and academic education and training programs, as well as other learning pathways.
The TQF has been designed as a unified single structure that classifies qualifications in Türkiye, encompassing all qualifications acquired through quality-assured primary education, secondary education, and higher education, including education and training programs as well as other learning pathways.
The inclusive structure, which aims to encompass all quality-assured qualifications in our country, renders cooperation among the relevant institutions and organizations that provide qualifications as well as the business world and social stakeholders indispensable, and this awareness is reflected in the governance structure of the Framework as set forth in the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Implementation of the Turkish Qualifications Framework.
