Exchange Programs

Erasmus+  Program

The Erasmus+ Program is a European Union initiative designed to promote cooperation among higher education institutions and to enhance the quality and international dimension of higher education across Europe.

The program provides non-repayable financial support to higher education institutions for the development and implementation of joint academic projects, as well as for short-term student and staff mobility activities.

Erasmus+ also encourages collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in order to strengthen the relevance of higher education to labor market needs and to improve the employability of graduates.

The primary objectives of the program are to:

  • Promote international cooperation among higher education institutions;

  • Facilitate the mobility of students and academic staff across participating countries;

  • Support the academic recognition and transparency of study periods and qualifications; and

  • Contribute to the development of a high-quality, internationally oriented higher education system.

Through its mobility opportunities, the Erasmus+ Program fosters intercultural understanding, encourages academic and personal development, and enables participants to gain valuable international experience while studying or teaching abroad.

Mevlâna Exchange Program

The Mevlâna Exchange Program is an international academic mobility program that facilitates the exchange of students and academic staff between higher education institutions in Türkiye and partner institutions throughout the world.

The program was established under the Regulation on the Mevlâna Exchange Program, published in the Official Gazette No. 28034 on 23 August 2011.

Unlike many other exchange programs, the Mevlâna Exchange Program is not restricted to a particular geographical region. It enables academic cooperation and mobility with higher education institutions worldwide.

Under the program:

  • Students may participate in exchange activities for a minimum of one semester and a maximum of two semesters.

  • Academic staff may participate in teaching mobility for a minimum of one week and a maximum of three months.

The program also enables students and academic staff from partner institutions around the world to undertake study or teaching activities at higher education institutions in Türkiye.

Farabi Exchange Program

The Farabi Exchange Program is a national exchange program that enables students and academic staff to undertake study or teaching activities at another higher education institution within Türkiye.

The program is open to participants enrolled in or employed by higher education institutions offering associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs, including universities and institutes of technology.

The primary objective of the Farabi Exchange Program is to promote academic collaboration among higher education institutions in Türkiye by enabling students and academic staff to continue their education, research, or teaching activities at a host institution for one or two semesters.

The implementation of the Farabi Exchange Program is governed by the relevant Regulation and the Principles and Procedures issued by the competent authorities.
